Children's Hospital of Los Angeles

I absolutely loved this project! The wonderful talented folks at Otoh Agency reached out about doing a two day photoshoot for Children's Hospital of Los Angeles. I don't have kids myself, but I already knew how important of an organization CHLA was. I felt very honored to be considered for the shoot.

A small treatment and a few creative calls later, I was awarded the job. The creative director Matt Heck wanted to approach the photography unlike typical Healthcare/Hospital photography. He wanted to show the joy and humanity that CHLA has with its patients. We collaborated on lighting and lensing to land on this very immersive style of shooting.

One of the main heroes of the shoot was our child wrangler Billy Rogers. For those that don't know, a Child Wrangler for shoots like these is a must! They help me keep the talent engaged, happy and focused on what we're trying to accomplish. This man has the patience of a saint! Some of those kids put him through the wringer!
